Who will see you
The people who will treat you
A district hospital is a small team. Most of these people live in the same neighbourhoods as the patients they treat.
Runs the Monday and Saturday outpatient clinics and chairs the case review meeting.
Antenatal clinic on Tuesday and Thursday, and on call for the maternity ward.
Theatre lists on Monday and Wednesday, emergency operating on call.
Children's clinic every morning, and the immunisation session on Wednesday.
Leads the midwifery team and the postnatal follow up.
Emergency room lead, and responsible for triage training.
Dispensing, stock, and the medicine safety checks before anything is handed over.
Blood, malaria, tuberculosis and culture work, and the blood bank.
You may ask, and we will try, but we will not delay your care to arrange it. If the clinician you want is not in, you will be seen by somebody who can read the same record and knows what happened last time.
Chest pain, bad bleeding, trouble breathing, a fit, a bad injury, or a child who is limp or will not feed. Come now, or send somebody.
